ALSA Recital:  Psalm 1

8/14/12

In this Psalm King David teaches us that happiness comes from avoiding the wicked, and bad deeds and following the path of the righteous and by studying the teachings of the Lord.

He teaches us in this Palm that the Righteous are like strong trees planted beside water, whereas the wicked are like chaff that the wind blows away.

ALSA Recital: Psalm 15

In this Psalm we learn from King David who may dwell in the house of the Lord in his Mighty Mountain.

We learn that one who dwells in the house of the Lord, lives without blame, without slander on his tongue, who does not harm his fellow, and bears no ill will towards his nieghbor.

ALSA  Recital  Plato's Republic

7/30/12

In This dialogue of Socrates, our great Philosopher teaches us of the Philosopher's Stone;  Justice, or more appropriately what Justice is not.  Please Note: In video, bold script denotes Socrates, and non bold script denotes Polemarcus.

In this timeless passage, in typical Socratic fashion, Socrates convinces Polemarcus that the classical Greek view of Justice, "To help one's friends and harm one's enemies", cannot truly be Justice because it is never right to harm someone, even an enemy.

ALSA Recital: Psalm 23

6/27/12

King David Teaches us in This Psalm that the Lord is like our Shepherd, and this world is the Valley of the Shadow of Death.

The Lord is our Shepherd in that He Leads us to Green pastures, and to clear streams of clean water, in that only the Lord can lead us to that which we truly need in this life.
